Beaver Valley Baseball Club has been in operation since 1996. In its existence, the club has helped generate some superstar people and players. In all, the program has had over 1,250 different families and players come in and go through the program. Some of the names over the past thirteen years is remarkable--we can not even start to name them all because there would be just too many. Here are just a few and what they have accomplished. Justin Sciarro (Beaver Falls)--Started at Quarterback at Geneva College
Donnie Ehrenberg (Center) -- Starting pitcher for Penn State University
Kevin McCabe (Bradmar Pine)--Started at Quarterback at Virginia University
Paul Posluszny (1997 Hopewell) -- Currently playing for the Buffalo Bills -- he was an early 2nd round selection out of Penn State
Mike Burger (Blackhawk) -- Currently on a baseball scholarship at West Virginia University
Sean Conley (Blackhawk) -- Currently on a baseball scholarship at Pitt University
Neil Walker (Pine Richland) -- Picked by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first round (11th overall) out of high school. Neil is currently in the Pirates farm system.
Bryan Czarnecki (Riverside) -- Bryan is currently a student at the prestigious West Point
Mark Tanner (Neshannock) -- Accepted a scholarship to pitch for the University of Kentucky. He later transferred and pitched for Slippery Rock
Gary Bucuran (Ambridge) -- Gary was drafted by the Pirates in the late rounds out of high school
Bryce Pfeuffer (Montour) -- Bryce is playing on a baseball scholarship at Point Park
Steve Paskorz (Hampton) -- Stephen is playing football at the University of Notre Dame
Christan Valeriano (Riverside) -- Christian is on a baseball scholarship to Lehigh University
Chris Murphy (Fox Chapel) -- Chris is on a baseball scholarship to Northern Illinois University
Nate DeFilippi (Center) -- Nate is playing on a baseball scholarship at Seton Hill University
Danny Jergel (Seneca Valley) -- Danny is playing on a baseball scholarship at Mercyhurst University
Quinten Williams (Central Catholic) -- Quentin was drafted out of high school in the 2007 Major League Draft. He decided to go to college and accepted a football/baseball scholarship to Northwestern University
Cory Mazzoni (Seneca Valley) -- Cory was drafted out of high school in the 2007 Major League Draft. Cory decided to go to college and accepted a baseball scholarship to North Carolina State University.
Alex Valadja (North Catholic) -- Signed a baseball scholarship to play at James Madison University
Zak Sinclair (West Allegheny)--2004 Baseball America's Player of the year. 2004 and 2005 Travel Ball Select unanimous All American. Zak was drafted in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. Zak decided to go to college and accepted a baseball scholarship to North Carolina State University
TJ Kuban (Pine Richland) -- 2004 Travel Ball Select Unanimous All American. Rumor has it that this Senior is looking at Vanderbilt University for the 2010 baseball season.
Patrick Leyland (Bishop Canevin) -- 2004 Baseball America top five 12 year old baseball players in the country. 2004 Travel Ball Select honorable mention all american in the 13U level (even though he was only 12)-- Patrick is a Junior in High School and is considered a Major League Catching Prospect.
Brad Goedeker (Monaca) -- 2004 Travel Ball Select Honorable Mention All American. Ryan Nussbaum (Pine Richland)-- 2004 Travel Ball Select Honorable Mention All American. Ryan was also 2005 Travel Ball Select First Team All American and 2005 Travel Ball Select Academic All American. Derrik Zeroski (West Allegheny) -- Is playing on a baseball scholarship at Duquesne University Andrew Heck (West Allegheny) -- Is palying on a baseball scholarship at Duquesne University DJ Cannon (Mars) -- Is playing on a baseball scholarship at Seton Hill University Donnie Barclay (Seneca Valley) -- Is playing on a football scholarship at West Virginia University Tyler Savisky (West Allegheny) -- Is playing on a football scholarship at the Dayton University JJ Litler (West Allegheny) -- Is playing on a baseball scholarship at Seton Hill University Ricky Deveraux (West Allegheny) -- Is playing on a baseball scholarship at Duquesne University Brian Billigen (Bishop Canevin) -- Is playing on a baseball scholarship at Cornell University Tarran Senay (Thomas Jefferson) -- Accepted a baseball scholarship to play at North Carolina State University Anthony Lamont (South Side Beaver) -- Accepted a baseball scholarship to play at California of Pennsylvania Johnny Elms (Riverside) -- Is currently playing on a baseball scholarship at Duquesne University Chris Vergos (Gateway) -- Is currently playing on a baseball scholarship at Duquesne University Brad Duffy (Riverside) -- Is currently playing on a baseball scholarship at Duquesne University
These are just some of the players the program has had the pleasure of being associated with. Make no mistake about it, there are many more. All the players that have suited up for the Black and Red over the past 10 years have all had a hand in help building BV Baseball into the powerhouse it is today. Stay tuned, more names to come.
