Hello Everybody,

Below are the game results for the teams of the BV BASEBALL CLUB for the weekend of May 20 – 22:

BV 9s BLACK:  Finished the weekend with an 0 – 2 – 1 record in the No Off Season “Steel Town Showdown” Tournament.  This group struggled a bit this weekend.  While competitive on Saturday, walks and errors will cost you games.  The tournament was wood bat which makes each mistake ever more difficult to come back from.  They will look to move forward and play better in Sandusky, OH this weekend.

BV 10s RED:  Won the Championship of the USSSA “7up Capital Cup Classic” Tournament in Columbus, OH.  This team finished the weekend with a perfect record of 5 – 0.  With the terrible weather we have had this season so far, this team has won all three of the tournaments that have been completed!!  They jump back into the big stage this Memorial Day weekend by competing in the USSSA “Sterling Heights SUPER NIT Tournament”!!

BV 11s RED:  Finished the USSSA “7up Capital Cup Classic” Tournament in Columbus, OH with a 3 – 1 record.  Even though this team won more than they lost, they did not compete well in this event.  They did not throw strikes, and seemed like they were always playing from behind.  They will look to put this weekend behind them, and get back to playing clean baseball next weekend in the USSSA “Sterling Heights SUPER NIT Tournament”!!

BV 11s BLACK:  Finished the USSSA “7up Capital Cup Classic” Tournament in Columbus, OH with a 2 – 1 record.  This squad is playing good baseball.  They finished Saturday with a 2 – 0 record, and was seeded as the #4 seed (got them a bye) on Sunday.  They lost a pretty tough game on a very controversial drop dead time limit situation.  The game was very close; as we were only down a few runs when the game was called.  They will look to continue to play good baseball this weekend in Sandusky!!

BV 12s RED:  Won the Championship of the USSSA “7up Capital Cup Classic” Tournament in Columbus, OH.  This group finished the weekend with a perfect 5 – 0 record.  This team is playing really good baseball, and have now won their last 17 games!!  They beat a solid baseball team (Columbus Sharks) in the finals by a convincing 9 – 2 margin.  With this Championship, this team has improved their overall record to 32 wins and only 3 losses!!  We are excited to take a crack at the Super NIT in Sterling Heights, MI this upcoming weekend!!

BV 12s BLACK:  Won the Championship of the Nations Baseball, “Wounded Warrior Benefit” Tournament.  This team is having an outstanding season — winning all but one of the tournaments that they have played!!  Their kids are hard nosed and play the game the right way.  They are jumping back into big time baseball this weekend when they enter the USSSA “Super NIT” in Sterling Heights, MI.  I’m very confident that they are going to turn some heads in Michigan over Memorial Day weekend!!

BV 13s RED:  Won the Championship of the USSSA “7up Capital Cup Classic” Tournament in Columbus, OH.  They are just a dominating baseball team!!  For the 2nd straight year this team is heading into the Memorial Day Weekend tournament without a loss — carrying a current record of 24 wins 0 losses and 1 tie.  They are really playing well, and they are still getting better!!  They are looking to avenge the tournament where they suffered their only loss of the season last year – the USSSA “Sterling Heights Super NIT”!!  Bet against them if you like, but if I was you I wouldn’t do it!!

BV 14s RED:  Finished in 2nd place of the USSSA “7up Capital Cup Classic” Tournament in Columbus, OH.  This age group opened up their weekend playing solid baseball.  With the late start because of the number of players involved with high school baseball, this team reunited with each other and played well.  They ran all the way to the finals, and lost to a solid Ohio Elite baseball team.  They will look to continue to improve next weekend in the USSSA Super NIT tournament in Sterling Heights, MI!!

**A good weekend for the BV Program!!  A club record of 29 wins 5 losses and 1 tie!!

**The program finished the weekend with 4 championships and 1 runner up!!  This brings our club totals for the 2016 season to 23 Championships and 2 Runner Up Finished!!  Lets keep this train rolling!!

Thanks for all you do,

Brian
